 Applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy is a scientific and evidence-based approach that helps individuals increase communication and socialization, learn new skills, and manage behaviors.  ABA therapy is beneficial for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental disorders at any age, but especially for early intervention. 

 ABA therapy helps individuals acquire the skills necessary to live a fully independent lifestyle.

Choosing to start ABA therapy is a very personal decision. Receiving an ASD diagnosis for your child can be difficult and heartbreaking. Many therapies will be thrown at you once an ASD diagnosis is given (Speech, Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, among others). Parents are often given the hard decision of choosing between therapies that will best fit their schedules. ABA in combination with Speech, OT, and PT can be very beneficial for your child's development. ABA is a "flexible" treatment- meaning it is adapted to meet the needs of the unique individual. It can be provided in multiple locations, in a group or 1 to 1 settings. Often ABA professionals collaborate with schools, Speech, OT, and PT to ensure the child receives everything they need. 

As a parent, you know your child better than anyone! You know how they will react to different settings and different people. You know if adding more will be too much.
